Uniform
(For Second-hand Uniform/shoes, see note below) Please mark your items of uniform, so that they can be easily found if lost: there is a Lost Property box in the waiting room. Shoes should be named INSIDE the shoe and not on underneath sole, and leotards on tag inside leotard. If you don't do this yourselves, our secretaries will do it for you in first two weeks.
Classical
All details are held at the North Shore Ballet Centre: they will give you the correct uniform for the correct grade level. NOTE: There is a new style of RAD skirt for classes up to Primary, the Ballet Shop has this on their file for our Studio.
Please note: no jumpers or cardigans permitted. Ballet students should wear ballet tights and X-overs in Winter, Jazz students a form fitting top.
Hair must be neatly done in beginners Pre Primary/Primary (groomed off the face. A bun may be done if you wish, otherwise a freshly groomed pony tail, braids etc). All other Grades: A bun held firmly in place please i.e. 3 or 4 hairpins won't do!

Leotard colours:

  • Pink for Beginners, Pre Primary, Grade 1 & 2,

  • Lunar Blue Grades 3 & 4

  • Navy Grade 5

  • Vocational Grades(majors) own choice for class

Contemporary
Ballet students remain in class leotards, with footless tights.
Non ballet students: leotard/closing fitting top, and footless tights.
Jazz
Form fitting clothing if a non classical student: such as jazz pants, bike shorts, crop tops, close fitting tee shirt. No jeans, skirts, shorts, jumpers. Hair neatly off face, such as bun or pony tail.

Classical students: remain in leotards and bun, you may add a jazz skirt/jazz pants ONLY if desired. No shorts, other skirts, jumpers.

Jazz shoes:

  • Level 1: Remain in ballet shoes if coming straight from class (there is NO TIME to change shoes) or black split sole jazz shoes if not a ballet student.

  • Level 2: Black split sole jazz shoes with elastic instead of laces/jazz skirt- no other clothing permitted. Leave hair in bun.

  • Level 3

  • Level 4 up: Blitz sneakers in black.

Second Hand
A second hand clothing pool is available during first two weeks of each term, to be supervised by secretary taking your fees. For times outside of this, phone Debra 9882 2374, or Miss Christine 9889 7624 to arrange a time. After first 2 weeks of each term, second hand items will not be kept in waiting room cupboard.

NOTE: Please ensure all second hand items are in good order; string around top of ballet shoes intact, shoes very clean, soles not peeling etc. Please hand in any second hand items each in own plastic sandwich-type bag, named, phone no, and priced, and in saleable condition.

If you have lost any items they are in the Lost items crate. Please check for yourselves.
